Epic Traffic Systems Co-Creator Jon Shugart was the focus of the third video
Epic Traffic Systems‘ pre-launch content series continues to roll on. On Wednesday, June 9th , 2010, the three experts behind Epic Traffic Systems, Keith Baxter, John Shugart, and Joey Smith, released their third pre-launch video.
As with the two previous videos, this one started out with the 3 men chatting. This time, in this 50-minute video, the focus was on Jon Shugart, who’s the pay-per-click (PPC) traffic expert among them.
“The dirty secret,” Jon says, “that people who are successful, that they don’t really tell you, is…they do a lot of ads. The people who are really successful…they split-test different ads, even to different landing pages…the ads are the key.
“The Google content network is a great place to get started, for anybody.”
Joey Smith interjected: “Well, what’s crazy is they always tell you to un-select that when creating a campaign.”
“The trick,” Jon revealed, “is to use the Google content network, but to use it—especially—with image ads.”
Jon continued to tell, and further illustrate in the video, of how, for the first four months of 2010, he ran image ads on the Google Adwords content network, and earned a net income of just under $2,000 a month. A neat fact about this experiment is that the product that was advertised was a digital product that taught people how to build their own chicken coops. Yes, even for a market as obscure as chicken coops, you can make money if you know what to do and how to get it to work for you.
“There’s just a dirty little secret that nobody talks about in this industry.
“I tell you what…I think it’ll be easier if I showed you. Why don’t you come with me…”
It was at this point that Jon got into the core subject matter of this video.
Epic Traffic Systems’ Cheap Adwords Traffic
Due to seemingly increasing costs of using the Adwords pay-per-click program, a lot of people have abandoned Adwords for other advertising networks and mediums. But, the one thing these marketers might be missing out on is the fact that for those who truly know (like Epic Traffic Systems’ Jon Shugart), you can still actually get very cheap clicks on Google’s PPC program.
Jon proves this by showing a screenshot of an Adwords campaign account. While keeping sensitive information covered (to comply with Adwords’ terms of service), Jon still reveals some great information: He shows you something that started about a year ago, in June 2009.
From June 8th, to June 15th, 2009, Jon ran 2 campaigns. During that week, one campaign generated 109,005 clicks, at a cost of $2920.71. That comes out to 3 cents per click. Yes, 3 cents.
It was this observation that led Jon on a journey to conquering what he’s shown to be the cheapest area to gain cheap clicks on Google Adwords.
Image ads of a certain type are the key. The other secret is to split-test…a lot.
Now, one of the main obstacles to advertising with image ads is that you have to get them created. If you consider that Adwords has about 8 different ad sizes, and multiply that by the dozens and of potential split-test pairs, it’s easy to see that this can be a very, very costly endeavor for most marketers.
Jon’s software overcomes this. It essentially creates numerous ads for you. And, it’s tracking feature helps automate things for you, so that once things are set up, you only need to put in a minimum of maintenance. It’s neat to see Jon demonstrate his software.
One twist was Jon’s guest: his friend and an owner of Elite Clicks Media, Greg Davis. Greg, who’s a super affiliate, essentially gives a testimony to Jon’s software. Greg was even nice enough to let Jon show a screenshot of his account.
Epic Traffic Systems is shaping up to be an almost all-in-one solution for those who want to generate a lot of traffic to their sites. One key theme of Epic Traffic Systems has been that of automation: once things are set up, it’s almost entirely hands-off. The traffic-generation systems that power the Epic Traffic Systems methodology continue to send “epic” proportions of traffic to your sites.
