Eben Pagan's Guru Blueprint

If you’re looking for information on Eben Pagan’s Guru Blueprint, you’ve come to the right place.  In this review, we’ll look at the validity of information marketing, what Eben Pagan has done, and give you a solid idea of what Guru Blueprint is.  Keep in mind that the information industry that we’re talking about encompasses the advice/consulting, coaching, and info-product markets.

“How would you like to have an information product blueprint?”

It was essentially with this question that Eben announced Guru Blueprint.  On his blog, he asked readers what they would like to see in the new program, particularly about the time span over which the course would be delivered.  One thing he kept repeating was templates—blueprints you can use to run a successful information business.

Why Information?

If you’re looking to start a successful online business, you might have looked at a number of business models, such as affiliate marketing and Adsense.  Of course, these business models have their pros and cons, and there are aspects of them that overlap with the information marketing industry.

As Eben points out, once we live in a society that requires information.  In the “Big 3 Mega Niches” of health, relationships, or money, there are thousands (even millions) of people who will potentially pay for information that helps them solve a particular problem that they have.

In fact, let’s look at some statistics that Eben relayed to us:

  • Coaching (personal and corporate) is a $100 billion industry
  • Self-help is a $13B industry, growing by 10% per year
  • Consider the Apple iPad and Amaon Kindle: both of these are extra channels that facilitate the delivery of digital information.  (And, as you may know, the Kindle is categorized as an e-book reader, and spawned the release of other e-book readers by other companies.)  The Kindle is actually Amazon’s best-seller right now, and it was reported that last year, on Amazon, e-book sales outsold the sales of physical books.
  • E-books grew 71% last year, overtaking audio book sales.  At the same time, fiction books droped by 15%.  And the kicker: there’s still lots of room for adoption, because 90% of people don’t read e-books.

Now, let’s consider some key thoughts and ideology that really power the entrepreneur’s drive to enter the information marketing and publishing industry.  If you’re still on the fence about this, consider these:

You probably know that it takes a long time for universities to update the curriculum of a given field of study.  (Eben said something about 5 years.)  Regardless, at whatever pace universities are at, they’re slow.  Peter Drucker knew this, and Eben quoted him as saying that “universities will not survive” in the future.  Distance learning is on the rise.

One reason for this is because information is “the new commodity,” and even “the new currency”.  We live in a world where information is increasing at a breakneck, almost exponential, rate.  The universities can’t keep up with this rate.  Someone (information marketers) have to fill in this gap.

Another key idea is that you may know something that others would pay to know.   (In fact, that’s the key foundation of this entire industry.)  Either you know something, or can gain access to someone who does.  If you can gain access to someone who knows something in a give area (such as the “big 3 mega niches), and get them to deliver that information (interview, articles, seminars, video, webinar, coaching, etc.), you have the beginnings of an information marketing business.

Information, depending on what it is, how it’s marketed, and the potential results it can deliver to those who use it, can have a very high value perception, and be sold at a premium price.  Of course, this is what Guru Blueprint will show you how to do.

So, now that you have an idea of the potential of the information marketing industry.  If you want to learn how to successfully establish yourself in this industry,  it’s imperative that you learn from someone who’s done it all before.   The next questions are…

Why Eben Pagan?  What Has He Accomplished?

About 9 years ago, Eben was unemployed.  He just had an old computer and…that was it.  He didn’t have much else…except for some dating knowledge.  For the next two weeks, Eben typed up a dating advice e-book for men.  We believe that this is what came to be known as the original Double Your Dating e-book, which has birthed the popular series of dating information products.  His dating pen name is David DeAngelo.

Today, the 38-year-old runs a 100% virtual business that brings in $29 million a year.  By “virtual,” he means that he and his employees all work from home.  There’s no “office” in the corporate sense.  In fact, Eben has shot videos of him in his home, and has produced a number of pre-launch videos in a homemade studio.

And, in case you’re wondering whether Eben is one of the “gurus” who only makes their money from selling “how to make money” products, rest assured that his dating line of information products is what brings him the majority of his earnings, at about $20 million a year.  The other $9 million come from the revenues of products in other markets.

Here are a few interesting things to know about Eben:

  • Eben’s Guru Mastermind is a $5,266,665 a year business.
  • His Wake Up Productive program did $968,058 last year.
  • Since his humble start 9 years ago, his information-based companies have sold over $100 million in products and higher-end seminars.
  • At an event in Calgary, he shared the stage Dr. Steven R Covey, F. W. de Klerk (the last State President of South Africa’s  apartheid era, who’s often credited with ending apartheid), and the Dalai Lama.
  • He was interviewed by Tony Robbins for Tony’s Money Masters series.
  • Richard Branson asked Eben to interview him (that is, Richard wanted Eben to be the interviewer), at an event in LA.
  • Eben associates with the one whom many would say is currently the #1 Internet marketer around today: Frank Kern.

Without a doubt, Eben is probably one of the best-qualified people to teach others how to start an information business.  Guru Blueprint isn’t his first time teaching this subject, either, so you can rest assured that Eben not only knows what to do, but knows how to communicate it to others in a step-by-step manner.

Guru Blueprint: What It Is

At the beginning of this review, we mentioned that Eben asked if you’d like to have your own information product blueprint.  The word “blueprint” is key here, because a core component of Guru Blueprint is that you’ll be getting all the blueprints that have been proven to take Eben to guru status.

Here’s a list of specific items Eben mentioned.  This is by no means an exhaustive list, since you’ll also get the training that shows you how to put all the pieces together:

  • A product formula template for creating a book or video
  • A landing page template
  • Salesletter and video templates for your sites
  • Blog and video blog post templates for your content
  • Headline and copywriting blueprints
  • Templates for advertising, banners, PPC, and content ads
  • Design templates
  • Script templates (what you, your people, and your partners can say to sell your product)
  • Templates for virtually all aspects of business, such as how to ask others for interviews

Guru Blueprint Scam?

No, Guru Blueprint isn’t a scam.  Most schemes pretend to be all-in-one “business opportunities” that promise overnight riches.  Eben has been doing this for many years, and has a very trusted reputation.  From what we know about Eben Pagan, we would give him and his programs some of the highest ratings out there.

Verdict: Not a scam.

Essentially, Guru Blueprint is a mentoring and coaching program that shows you how to create highly valuable information products, plus the marketing to sell it.  The information is delivered online from Eben, his team, and his trainers.
