Guru Blueprint‘s pre-launch has been going great so far. It really took off around May 4th, 2010, when Eben Pagan surveyed his readers, asking them, “How would you like to have an ‘information product’ blueprint?” Since then, there have been 5 Guru Blueprint pre-launch videos released on the Guru Blueprint launch blog, and Eben’s videos have sparked thousands of blog comments.
In case you might not know, Guru Blueprint is Eben Pagan’s upcoming offering to the Internet marketing (and particularly, information marketing), community. You’ll see below that in one of the videos of this pre-launch, Eben answers the question, “What is a Guru Blueprint?”
In this news item, we’ll aim to give you a chronology of the events of this Guru Blueprint pre-launch process.
Around May 13th, Eben’s first informative pre-launch video was released. It was titled “How To Turn What You Already Know Into Information Products That Sell For High Prices Online”. The video starts out with Eben on his balcony, and he gives you an overview of the video (and, to some extent, of the entire program). Over the past 9 or 10 years, since starting his information business by himself with a simple IBM computer, he has grown his company to the $29M/year business it is today.
In that video, Eben relayed some facts and statistics that verified the validity of the information products, coaching, consulting, and advice business.
And, to provide value to the viewer, Eben ended by describing the video’s accompanying .pdf assignment, entitled Discovering Your Knowledge Goldmine Exercise. The basic premise behind this exercise is that virtually everyone knows something so well that others would pay that person to help them. The exercise involved having the participant list various ways they’ve helped others.
So far, this one video has garnered over 1,600 blog comments on the Guru Blueprint launch blog.
Then, on May 19th, the video, “How To Identify And Target Highly Profitable Information Niches Online” was released. If you’ve been in marketing, research, or product development for any length of time, you know very well that market research, finding the right market, and identifying a niche, is a critical aspect of doing business. This is true for an online business or a brick-and-mortar business. Of course, Eben knows this, and in this video, Eben explained the mindset, or strategy he uses to identify profitable markets that have consumers of information products.
Luckily, for the reader, Eben had pre-selected 29 profitable niche markets. These 29 were discussed in one of the videos 2 accompanying .pdf documents, titled “Niche Intelligence Report.” This document was great, not only because it revealed the 29 niche markets, but also discussed the thought process that goes into selecting each one.
The second .pdf document was an exercise document titled “Niche Exercises.” This document was for people who wanted to try out the thought process and niche selection strategy that Eben relayed in the video. It was a process for finding your own profitable niches.
The second pre-launch video has, so far, received over 1,300 comments.
What’s Is Guru Blueprint?
The next video in the pre-launch series is the shortest one so far, at between 8 and 9 minutes long. It was titled, “What Is A “GURU Blueprint” Anyway?”
People had been asking this question, so in this video, Eben described his upcoming program as a combination of blueprints and training. The blueprints are essentially what Eben uses to run every important aspect of his business. He has these for sales letters, JV letters, marketing, product development, etc. Of course, the free Guru Blueprint training he has been releasing, with their .pdf exercises, show that Eben really knows how to plan and carry out the building of a great information business.
To date, Eben’s latest video is “Content is Cash,” and has the subtitle of “How Information Is Becoming The New Online Currency, And How To Create Information Products & Coaching That Sell For High Prices”.
The title sums up Eben’s belief that information (in the case of Guru Blueprint, content that’s helpful to others and successfully marketed), is probably the best opportunity right now for regular folks who want to help people. In this video, Eben asked a number of questions to help get his point across, and really drove home his Guru Blueprint message.
One interesting thing he mentioned, which might be news to some people, is that there’s a new phrase being used in the business world: content marketing. It’s even mentioned on Wikipedia. The basic idea here is that great knowledge, according to Eben, is the way to fame, cash, and the things that most really successful people experience.
This video was also accompanied by an exercise .pdf that featured content-based exercises.
Guru Blueprint is set for release on Tuesday, June 1st, 2010.
