Howie’s Apprentice 6 is the 6th round of Howie Schwartz‘ successful series of apprenticeship programs.
In this review, we’ll take a look at previous sessions of Howie’s Apprentice and give you an idea of what to expect.
But before we get into this review, it’s good to give a bit of an overview: an introduction to Howie Schwartz and the underlying method he teaches in his apprenticeship program. By understanding Howie and his approach, you’ll be able to better tell if this program is right for you.
Howie Schwartz has been an Internet marketer for close to 10 years now—if not longer. Although his apprenticeship program has some defined, specific areas of focus, his breadth of knowledge on Internet marketing is actually quite vast. That is, he has a very broad understanding of almost everything in Internet marketing, from business models, to traffic models, to conversion, and more.
So great is Howie’s knowledge and experience that he was even on the faculty of StomperNet. It was here that many of his current followers heard about and were exposed to him. On one of his sites, there’s a video testimonial from a student: the student described how he was at a StomperNet, and being fascinated by Howie’s knowledge. He really knew his stuff.
Howie has also released several marketing-related products. A few of these are Blackhat is Back, Conversation Domination, and Bookmark Generation. IM Leadership and Mobile Marketing Leadership are more event-based products (such as seminars and webinars), but still come in downloadable format for students to follow from home.
Now, if you’re thinking of this apprenticeship program, you’ll want to know Howie’s approach, or business model (at least as far as this program’s concerned).
From looking at past programs, the focus is to find products that you can sell as an affiliate, and get free, targeted traffic to your site by ranking well in the search engines.
This may sound familiar to you: if you’ve seen a lot of the reviews on this Internet marketing blog, you know that niche marketing combined with free SEO traffic is a compelling, proven approach to having a successful business.
However, what makes this program different—and, we’ll get more into this when we look at a case study—is domination. Yes, you hear about people “dominating” a market, but what we mean here is that, in this program, students have learned to dominate the home page. That is, have multiple listings on the home page for selected, commercially-oriented keywords. (No, it wasn’t done with a single site, but rather, with a handful of sites and Web 2.0 sub-sites that the student had created.)
We’ve written a full profile on Howie, so we won’t go into much more detail than we already have. But, suffice to say: He is definitely qualified to be teaching others how to really make money online. He has done so successfully many times.
What Is Howie’s Apprentice 6?
If you’ve seen the show, The Apprentice, with Donald Trump, we’re happy to report that Howie’s Apprentice is not quite like that. It’s not a series of tests where you have to prove yourself, or face being “fired.”
Having said that, real, intensive effort is required in this program. In fact, there’s an application process where you’re asked to really “spill the beans” and tell Howie as much as you can about yourself, your business and your goals. This extensive information helps determine who’s ultimately picked for the program. It’s been said that every time this program is opened, spots fill up very fast.
Quite simply, it’s a chance to work closely with Howie and his team for about 3 months. You’ll learn about the following, and the money that’s made during apprenticeship is split between you, Howie, and the rest of the students:
- “Drilling down” and keyword research. This is one fundamental reason why Howie’s students (like Shira, who’s case study you’ll read about below), have started to do so well.
- Article marketing. This is a staple in online marketing. You’ll learn how to do it properly, for the best results.
- Video marketing. Video is a growing trend in online marketing, but it’s still so new that if you don’t get the right instruction, you’re bound to make mistakes that will render it ineffective. Of course, you can expect that Howie knows how to use video to the max.
- You’ll also get access to Howie’s ranking software that allows him and his students to rank well on Google.
This list is really only a very short list to give you some idea of what you’ll learn.
Howie’s Apprentice Case Study
Earlier in this review, we mentioned that we’d bring up a case study of one of Howie’s successful students. We’ll look at Shira and what she has been able to do.
Now, we mentioned affiliate marketing earlier, but these methods can also apply to cost-per-acquisition (CPA). This is the case with Shira.
She decided to go after one of the more competitive niches out there: acai. (Slim acai, to be exact.) Selecting slim acai was due to a recommendation by her affiliate manager, and a bit of “drilling down” keyword research.
She followed what she’d learned. She created sites and Web 2.0 properties, and put unique, quality content on them. She did article marketing, video marketing, and Web 2.0 rings to market her sites and content.
Over time, she got onto the first page of Google…but not just for one position…for 4 positions!
Then, the next day, on January 7th of 2010, she was on all 10 spots on the first page of Google.
This is what Howie means when he talks of “niche domination.” Most people (and even professional SEOs) are happy to be on the first page, and very happy to be in the top 3. Shira had gotten into all 10 positions.
Of course, this led to traffic and sales. But Shira says it’s might not be “big” money like the gurus make, but it is something that proves that Howie’s methods work.
Howie’s Apprentice 6 Scam?
Howie has too strong and too established a reputation for this to be a scheme. Most schemes and scams are supposed “opportunities” that promise overnight riches. Most scams also accept anyone, even if the person is not qualified for the program. To the contrary, this is a program that many people don’t even get into (since there are so many applicants), and requires intensive work on the part of each participant. You really have to be at a certain place to be accepted into this program.
Verdict: Not a scam.
In conclusion, we can say that Howie’s Apprentice 6 will be as good as all of Howie’s previous programs, and even better.
