the perpetual traffic report Perpetual Traffic Formula: Review of The Perpetual Traffic Report

The Perpetual Traffic Report squeeze page. "Google Is Broken" is the theme and underlying concept behind the report and The Perpetual Traffic Formula.

Perpetual Traffic Formula’s creator, Ryan Deiss, has something to say: “Google is broken!”  That’s the message of today’s Perpetual Traffic Formula review, where we’ll give you an overview of a report we just reviewed this morning.

A few hours ago, during the morning of July 19th, 2010, Ryan Deiss just released his Perpetual Traffic Report, which is a pre-launch informative document that leads up to the eventual launch of The Perpetual Traffic formula.

This 29-page .pdf document is very informative, and even reveals what Ryan claims to me a new factor in Google’s ranking algorythm.  Ryan backs his claim by telling the reader about the history of Google, and states that his own test results have confirmed the concepts behind this report.

But before we delve into this report, we let’s take a few steps back.  If you’re not familiar with The Perpetual Traffic Formula, you might be asking:

Perpetual Traffic Formula: What Is It About?

Getting enough high-quality, targeted website traffic is the ultimate aim of Ryan’s Perpetual Traffic Formula.  The main channel of this traffic-generation course is search engine optimization.  That is, this course helps you to get a lot of traffic to your site by ranking well on the organic search engine results page.

Okay…but what makes this traffic course different?

Well, as we mentioned in our review of Perpetual Traffic Formula, Ryan Deiss, the creator of this course, is an Internet marketing innovator.  He doesn’t release products that don’t break new ground.  A lot of his past product releases have revealed a new aspect of Internet marketing that most mainstream marketers were unaware of.

And, after reading his newly-released Perpetual Traffic Report, we’ve seen that Ryan has done it again.  I can say this because I myself study SEO, and one of the Ranking Triads Ryan mentions is something I’ve barely heard spoken about before.  (In all honesty, I’ve only really heard three people mention something remotely similar to the one Ranking Triad that Ryan revealed, and that’s stretching it: I’ve really never heard anyone talk about this the way Ryan just did.)

So, onto the review…

The main idea behind this report is that by abiding by the Ranking Triad, you can easily rank well in Google.

Yes, despite the commonly-held beliefs that ranking in Google has to be “hard,” one can, with some effort, gain organic search traffic by moving into the top position of a given search results page.  Google’s search engine algorythm, according to Ryan, is not “ultra-complex,” not hard, and isn’t beyond your skill-set (or, Ryan claims it won’t be…once you have his tools, of course).

According to Ryan, the notions that ranking #1 in Google is something far above the reach of most people is based on commonly-held beliefs that aren’t as true as most people (even professional SEOs) think they are.  Those are the beliefs and myths that Ryan tries to dis-spell.

If you know Ryan Deiss, you may know a bit of his story, which he tells in this report: that he swore off trying to do SEO in 2007 after some Google algorythm change caused a blow to his rankings.  Had he known what he knows now, he would’ve done what a few of his friends did: just make some changes, and be earning as they were before the algo change.

But not doing that (until recently) was a big mistake for Ryan.  He was too annoyed at Google and it’s seemingly ever-changing algorythm.  But now, Ryan knows better, and his findings are the basis of this recent release.

Here’s a short list of things you’ll learn from Ryan’s Perpetual Traffic Report

  • The simple, easily-manipulated variables that Ryan says Google’s algorythm is based on.  Sure, people say that there are about 200 ranking factors that Google uses to rank pages, but according to Ryan, there are only 3 that really make a difference.  With this knowledge in mind, it’s apparently very simple to get your site ranked well.
  • How often Google shifts their emphasis between these variables, when the last one occurred, and what the last shift emphasizes.  If you know this, you shouldn’t expect another shift for a while.
  • On page 6, you’ll find the beginnings of a few stats that show that organic traffic is growing, while paid traffic is declining.  Ryan quotes an external source (SEOBook.com), and shows a screenshot of a Google search engine results page, with statistical commentary that illustrates the average click-through rate percentage of the top paid sponsored results, the right-hand sponsored results, and the organic results.
  • You’ve seen the sponsored results that show above the main, organic results, right?  Not the right-hand side ads, but the ones on the top?  (Not all search queries have these.)  Have you ever wondered how many clicks those top sponsored results are getting?  You might be surprised to find out the answer…
  • If you don’t believe what Ryan says about percentages and click-through rates, what’s revealed about Google Adwords’ Traffic Estimator will confirm what Ryan says.
  • Why holding sponsored results, even from positions 1-3, and feeling satisfied, is really a false sense of security.
  • If you think that position # 4-9 get bad click-through rates, well…in a way, they do, but you’ll be surprised at how well they compare to some of the sponsored results.
  • The Google end-user is evolving, and, as revealed, they’re really catching on: people know the difference between organic and sponsored results.  Again, Ryan quotes stats (this time, from Enquisite.com) to prove it.
  • The Ranking Triad: This has to be one of the best reasons for reading this report.  The third of the Ranking Triads is something new to most people.

All in all, The Perpetual Traffic Report has been a great, insightful read.  What you learn from might very well change the way you think about ranking in Google and how you engage your target audience.  It sure lays a good foundation for the eventual release of The Perpetual Traffic Formula.
