Perpetual Traffic Formula can be summarized in one sentence: It’s a program that, according to Ryan Deiss, shows you the surest way to get free traffic to your site.  It launches on Wednesday, July 28th, 2010.

Around July 24th, 2010, Ryan released a free report that functions as a lead-in to Perpetual Traffic Formula.  This is The Authority Codes, which is a 21-page .pdf.  It features one of the methods that are part of Ryan’s upcoming launch: getting high quality backlinks.

Now, in order to understand the significance of what’s in Ryan’s Authority Codes, you need to understand the bigger picture.  What we’ll do now is tell you the 3 major elements that go into getting free traffic to your site.  Just keep in mind that The Authority Codes appeals to the second of these 3: backlinks.

Perpetual Traffic Formula‘s Ranking Triad

The headline to a previous Perpetual Traffic Formula Report read, “Google Is Broken,” which elicited a bit of controversy.  Ryan’s main message for doing this was because he wanted to break people out of a huge myth that’s allegedly perpetuated by Google and a lot of professional SEOs (search engine optimization experts).  This myth simply states that ranking in Google is exceedingly difficult, that Google’s algorythm is something out of reach of most people.  Though it is undoubtedly complex, one surprising thing that Ryan alleges is that Google itself doesn’t have it figured out, either.  That is, people credit the Google algorythm more than it deserves to be.

It’s not that hard.  That’s what Ryan’s saying.  It’s broken, in the sense that it’s “easily manipulated” (quoting Ryan from a recent interview).

Yes, you can get free traffic to your site, and to understand how, you need to know the 3 major elements that make up the Ranking Triad:

1.Content

This is a given, and has been since time immemorial (or, at least since the Internet began).  The reason why people go onto the Internet is because they’re searching for information (content).  Traditionally among Internet marketers, there’s been a preference for textual information, but that’s not the only type of content there is.  Videos, images, and music are other types of content that people may be searching for.

However, textual content is still the most preferred, and is needed to tell the search engine robots what your site is about.

2.Backlinks

Also another given.  We can write at length about everything we know about backlinks.  First, if you don’t what what a backink is, it’s simply this: a link from another site, that goes back to your site.  Hence, backlink.  Also, when we in the Internet marketing and SEO fields talk about backlinks, we usually mean one-way backlinks.  That is, links where the other site links back to yours, without you having to link back to the other site.

Now, it’s good to know that, qualitatively speaking, not all backlinks are created equal.  That is, there are sites that can link to you (give you backlinks) that can help you much, much more than some other sites will for the same number of backlinks.

For example, The Authority Codes makes this quite clear: On page 3, there’s a chart that one link from a high-quality page can equal one link from each of 555 lower-quality pages.  (Quality according to this chart, is based on the Page Rank of a page.  We don’t have time to get into what Page Rank is, but it’s basically a measure of how important a given page is.)

3.Activity

This is a factor that separates Ryan from others.  We mentioned in our review of the Perpetual Traffic Formula that Ryan is very innovative, and he shows that innovation with this third factor.

To really understand this, you should know that just last month (June 2010), Google, according to Ryan really rolled out with it’s major Caffeine  update.  One of the things that Google is looking for, and hence, one of the ranking facors, is activity.  (Google doesn’t explicitly say this, but Ryan’s interpretation and results verify this.)

There are 2 types of activity: human, and how often your site keeps updating.  Activity is the newly-unvieled ranking factor that virtually no SEO course has covered.  That’s what keeps Perpetual Traffic Formula on the cutting edge.

So, those are the 3 major ranking factors (The Ranking Triad).

Before we tell you more about The Authority Codes, you need to know what a search operator is.  We’re sure you’ve googled things before, so you have the basics of understanding them.

What search operators are, is that they’re special queries (or, codes, which is fitting to the title of Ryan’s report) that you type into Google when you’re searching for something very specific.

The Authority Codes is essentially a collection of specific Google search operators that help you find sites that can give you high-quality backlinks.

Of course, The Authority Codes testifies that part of Perpetual Traffic Formula will focus on getting high-quality backlinks.
