dominating video Video Marketing

Video marketing is a great way for you to expand your market reach. This article will tell you more about video marketing. Dominating Video is a course that teaches marketes how to market with video.

Video marketing is the marketing of your products through the use of video.  This article discusses why video marketing can be very profitable.

If you’d like to know what video marketing is, why you should consider using video in your overall marketing approach, and how marketing with video works, you’ve come to the right place.

In this article, we’ll cover the what, why, and how of video marketing.  By the end of this article, you’ll be more able to decide whether video marketing is a viable avenue for expanding your market reach.

Video Marketing: What It Is

Video marketing is the use of video to spread of awareness of a particular message, product, service, or opportunity.

I think that, when traditional marketers think of using video to market their products or services, they think of commercial-like videos that scream, “buy this.”

But not all marketing videos have to be blatant advertisements.  In fact, they probably shouldn’t be.

People go to video-sharing sites, like YouTube, to be entertained, and to be informed, and to learn things.

So, with video, any entrepreneur who has something to offer (a solution to a problem people are having), has the opportunity to teach people using video.

For example, if you offer some type of software, you can make a video tutorial that shows people how to solve a problem.  That way, you deliver something that they’re looking for (how-to information), and then, you give them the choice to purchase your software.

Video Marketing: Why You Should Consider It

There are many reasons why you should consider expanding your market reach and using video to appeal to potential prospects and customers:

  • YouTube, which is site #3 on the Internet (in terms of traffic), is a video search engine.  Plus, it’s been said that about 52% of all web traffic has to do with video.

Imagine that: If you have an online business and use the Internet to try to attract customers, potentially half of them (or more) can be reached via video.  (Of course, some markets may have more video users than others, but overall, people in general are more engaged with video.)

  • At least until the year 2014, video is projected to grow by at least 30% per year.
  • When video is used well, conversions are about 72% better.  Yes, you can have a 72% increase in sales by properly using video.
  • We already mentioned that video can be more engaging, and that’s because video is usually both visual and audio, which engages more modalities than just text.  Plus, with audio, tone and volume can better convey the meaning behind your message.
  • Some people think that creating a professional, helpful video is hard or costs a lot of money.  We say that it’s only as involved as you want it to be, and that, with very simple equipment (no camera is even needed), you can create a short, effective marketing video.
  • Video SEO—that is, optimizing a video page for higher search engine rankings—is relatively easy.  Plus, video pages, in and of themselves, rank better than text-based pages.
  • Perhaps the biggest reason to get into video marketing is because people have done it before, and have succeeded.  You don’t have to start alone or with trial and error.  Marketers like Mark Dulisse, who, with Alex Goad, has just released a video marketing course called Dominating Video, have used video to great success.

So, if you’ve been looking to get into video marketing, and don’t know who to start with, you may wish to consider Alex and Mark’s Dominating Video.  It’s an A to Z course on how to plan, write, shoot, and upload great videos that expand your bottom line.  In fact, that leads us to our next section…

Video Marketing: How To Start

Let’s say you have a product or service you want to market.  You can start in video marketing by just making a simple slide presentation, and recording that slide presentation using a free screen capture software solution.  Jing is a great free screen capture software solution.  There are also paid screen capture software solutions like Camtasia for Windows and ScreenFlow for Mac.

It’s so simple that you don’t even have to show your face or have a camera.  Just make your slide presentation about your product or service, and do a presentation.  (You might want to have a microphone, though.)  Then, after you’ve recorded your presentation, you can just render it and upload it to a video sharing site like YouTube, and in the description, have a link to your site.

If you want to go a bit further, you can also get a graphic designer to make a slide theme with your company’s logo somewhere on it.

Of course, video marketing can be as involved as you want it to be.  You can add music, have professional graphics, and use high-definition cameras to record you (or someone else) demonstrating your product.

You can host on your own server, on Amazon S3, and even have a video sitemap.

Sound involved?  Again, it’s as simple or as complex as you want it to be.  Dominating Video helps give you a deep understanding of how to do profitable video marketing.

Video Marketing Conclusion, and An Idea

Here’s an idea: if you have a training product, why not deliver all of the content via video?  That is, the product is video-based, and is also marketed via video.

Or, why not take samples directly from your video course, and use that in your video marketing efforts?  This is similar to how Amazon.com offers sample chapters of some of their books.

We hope that this article has informed you about the opportunities you have with video marketing.  Please see our Dominating Video review to learn more about how to profitably benefit from video marketing.
